Joan L. Burgess Dawley, 88, of Wilmington, Ohio passed away Friday, July 14, 2017 at Clinton Memorial Hospital. Her husband, Philip Dawley, survives. They were married October 23, 1974. She was born February 14, 1929 in Wilmington, Ohio, daughter of the late Russell and Clara Swonger Longstreth.
Joan was a medical assistant for Dr. Williams and Dr. Plymire. She was a member of the New Vienna Church of Christ and the New Vienna Chapter #327 Order of the Eastern Star.
In addition to her husband, Joan is survived by a son, Stephen (Cindy) Burgess; a daughter, Joni (Steven) Streber; two stepsons, Curtis (Sandy) Dawley and Craig (Trieva) Dawley; a brother, Alan Longstreth; a sister, Jean Wright; a sister-in-law, Linda Longstreth; five grandchildren, Bruce Burgess, Doug Burgess, Jodi Ashton, Schuyler Streber, and Sage Streber; two step-grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, two brothers, James Longstreth and Larry Longstreth, are preceded in death.
A Graveside service will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Sugar Grove Cemetery.
