Larry Neal Hurtt, 77, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Saturday evening, July 15, 2017, at his residence. His death was sudden and unexpected.
Larry was born December 21, 1939, in Washington Court House, Ohio to Walter Lee and Rachel Mae Hussey Hurtt. He was a 1958 graduate of Washington High School and lived most of his life in Washington Court House.
He was a 30-year employee of Mid Atlantic Storage Systems, Inc. before his retirement in April 2017.
Larry was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother-in-law, Jeff Johnson, and a nephew, Norman Johnson.
Larry is survived by his wife, the former Debra Ann Rice whom he married March 1, 1975; five children, Lisa Chaney and her husband, Mike, of Washington Court House, Jeffrey Hurtt and his wife, Lori, of Hillsboro, Michael Hurtt and his wife, Erma, of Washington Court House, Stacey Lynn Hurtt of Washington Court House and Timothy Shane Hurtt and his fiancée, Tesia Reffit, of Paintsville, KY; five grandchildren, Rachel, Ashley and Christopher Hurtt and Nathan and Jennifer Chaney; a sister, Linda Johnson of Hillsboro and a nephew, Jeffery Johnson of Hillsboro.
In keeping with his wishes, Larry’s body was donated to The Ohio State University for medical research.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
