Carl Steinhauser Jr.

   Carl Steinhauser, Jr., 92, of New Holland, Ohio died Thursday, July 6, 2017, at 12:14 a.m. at Court House Manor where he had been a patient since December 30, 2016.

           Carl was born January 23, 1925, at Clarksburg in Ross County, Ohio to Carl and Ruth Smith Steinhauser.  He lived most of his life in the Clarksburg and New Holland communities where he was a retired farmer. 

           He was a member of the Brown’s Chapel United Methodist Church; a 65 year member of Heber Lodge, F & AM #501 in Williamsport; the Old Timers’ Machinery Club of Green County and was well known for his draft horses with which he participated in plowing contests, local parades and charity events.

           Carl was preceded in death by his wife, the former Jessie Joan White on October 8, 2016; a brother, Charles H. “Hi” Steinhauser and an infant sister, Virginia.

           He is survived by a son, David Steinhauser and his wife, Susette Jaquette, of Ann Arbor, MI; a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Terry Campbell of New Holland; five grandchildren, Nicholas (Cherie) Campbell, Adam (Jess) Campbell, Samantha (Mark) McBride, Helen Steinhauser and Grant Steinhauser; six great grandchildren, Audrey, Halley, Lane and Rhett Campbell and Genevieve and Cora McBride; a sister, Becky Ater of Clarksburg and several nieces and nephews.

           The funeral will be Sunday, July 9, 2017, at 5 p.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in New Holland with Mell Wickensimer, director of visitation at the Grace United Methodist Church, officiating. 

           Friends may call at the funeral home in New Holland from 2-5 p.m. Sunday where a Masonic service, which is open to the public, will be held at 4:45 p.m.
