JERRY RICHARD CLIFFORD, age 77, of Jeffersonville, passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at 2:21 a.m. at Fayette County Memorial Hospital.
He was born on October 31, 1939 in Clark County to Donald and Lorraine McCabe Clifford. Jerry proudly served his country in the US Army. He had worked many years as a school bus driver for Miami Trace and retired from Ross Correctional Institution where he worked as a corrections officer. Jerry was most recently employed at Home Depot in Washington CH. He was also a member of the Jeffersonville Lodge No. 468, Free and Accepted Masons. He enjoyed restoring old cars, riding his motorcycle, nature, and most importantly, being with his family and grandchildren.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, John Clifford Sr., and Gerry Clifford.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Ann McGee Clifford, whom he married on April 6, 1971; children, Nelline Tourney of Springfield, Teresa Maxie of Washington CH, Mary Clifford of Springfield, Kenneth (Liz) Carpenter of Pensacola, FL, and Bill (Betty) Miller of Wilmington; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and special friends Kevin and Cathy Miller, and Gary and Heather Rose.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, June 26, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor Jay Lucas officiating with burial to follow at the Highlawn Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 2-4:00 p.m.
