Leslie Marie Spears, age 67, of Jamestown passed away on Friday, June 9, 2017 at the Miami Valley Hospital, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Leslie was born November 28, 1949 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Paul and Virginia Scherbauer Glynn. She was a lifelong Greene County resident and graduated from Xenia High School. She retired from Super Value Warehouse in Xenia with over 30 years of service. She enjoyed attending local festivals and craft shows. Leslie will be remembered as a kind and loving person. Someone who believed that love, hope and unity would make our world a better place and did her best to lead the way.
Along with her parents, Leslie was preceded in death by an infant grandson, Brendon Dane Spears.
Surviving are her husband, George Spears, whom she married on May 31, 1969; her children, Jennifer (Mark) Hughes of Sabina, Meghan Spears of Washington C.H., Morgan (Greg) Adams of Xenia and George Dane Spears of Springfield; grandchildren, Colten and Coby Hughes, Gracey Bunch and Ava Adams; sisters, Shelia Johnson and Cindy (Tim) Gatchie; brothers, Kenny Glynn and Danny (Janet) Glynn, as well as many extended family and a host of friends.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation will take place. A celebration of her life will be held at 3pm on Saturday June 17, 2017 at the Roberts Funeral Home in Washington C.H., with Matt Hagler officiating. The family will receive friends from 2pm until the time of service. Burial will take place at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Bowersville, at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, family has suggested donations to the Fayette County Cancer Support Foundation, P.O. Box 322, Washington C.H., Ohio 43160 or the Jamestown Families Cancer Care organization, P.O. Box 35, Jamestown, Ohio 45335.
