DAVID MILTON WHALEY, age 60, of Washington CH, passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2017 at 10:20 p.m. at his home.
He was born on April 18, 1957 in Fayette County to George Whaley and Janice Elliot. David proudly served his country is the US Marine Corps. He had worked in construction and concrete for most of his life. He enjoyed mushroom hunting, playing cards, bowling, and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
David was preceded in death by his mother and father; his wife, Cindy Wasson Whaley; and sisters, Marsha Wilson, and Debbie Little.
Survivors include his step-father, James Elliot; children, David Jason Whaley, and Heather Dawn Yoakum; grandchildren, Selena Sims, Devvinn Yoakum, Emeree Yoakum, and Randallyn Mathews; sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Jerry Picklesimer, and father-in-law, Sam Wasson. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, June 2, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor Christopher Conley officiating. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Cremation will be observed according to David’s wishes.
