Herman “Jack” Cress, Jr., 62 years of Hillsboro, passed away on Saturday May 20, 2017 at the Clermont Mercy Hospital in Batavia.
He was born in Cincinnati on October 24, 1954, the son of Herman (Melinda) Cress, Sr. of Hillsboro and the late Lurrie (Young) Cress. Beside his mother, he was also preceded by his grandfather, Charlie Cress, granddaughter, Brittany Wrightsman, grandson, Joshua Ross and sister, Bonnie Marconnet.
Jack was a member of the Samantha Freewill Baptist Church; he was a Mason, Scottish Rite-Valley of Cincinnati, worked at the Jewish Hospital for 36 years and was a band member for Six Pac.
Besides his father, Jack is survived by his wife, Linda Cress, whom were married on February 2, 1974, four daughters, Anna Cress of Washington Court House, Sheila (Eric) Ross of Batavia, Christina Cress of Hillsboro and Dorothy Cress of Hillsboro, four brothers, Dewayne (Barb) Cress of Batavia, Eddie (Kim) Cress of Midland, OH, Logan (Kristen) Cress of Hamilton and Anthony Cress of Hamilton, three sisters, Iva (Bill) Dean of Goshen, Sharon Simpson of Hillsboro and Shawnda Cress of Cincinnati, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral Services will be 7:00 PM Thursday May 25, 2017 at the Samantha Freewill Baptist Church. A Masonic Service will start at 6:30PM.
Friends may call from 4:00 PM until time of the Masonic Service on Thursday May 25, 2017 at the church.
