Marilyn Jean Mallow

Marilyn Jean Mallow, 86, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Thursday, May 18, 2017, at 10:58 p.m. at the Four Seasons of Washington Nursing and Rehab Center where she had been a resident since January 16, 2016.

Marilyn was born August 7, 1930, in Columbus, Ohio to Howard Ross and Gustava Maude (Toddy) Carr Thompson.  She was a graduate of South High School in Columbus and had lived most of her life in this community where she formerly was a bookkeeper for the Washington Lumber Company and later owned and operated the Book Corner.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church; had been a member of the board of directors of the Fayette County Commission on Aging and had served as president of the Carnegie Public Library Board of Directors and the Fayette Metropolitan Housing Authority.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lewis Mallow on November 30, 1987, and a daughter, Linda Lee Mallow Brown on July 26, 1993.

Marilyn is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Michael H. and Bonny Mallow of Washington Court House; six grandchildren, Kaylee Ellen Mallow and her special friend, Caleb Ellars, of Washington Court House, Misty Klenoski and her husband, Tim, and Jason Mallow, all of Michigan, Todd Brown and his wife, Amanda, of Washington C.H., Jennifer Byrnes and her husband, Nate, of Liberty Center, Ohio and Troy Brown and his wife, Abby, of Kentucky and seven great grandchildren.

The funeral will be Monday, May 22, 2017, at 1 p.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House with Mell Wickensimer, director of visitation at the Grace United Methodist Church, officiating.  Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 11 a.m. until time of the service.
