Ivy Nell LaRose Forstall, 94, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at 12:36 a.m. at Carriage Court Assisted Living in Washington Court House after an illness of several weeks.Mrs. Forstall was born December 6, 1922, in New Orleans, LA to Camille and Jeanne Cangelosi LaRose. She was educated, married and lived most of her life in New Orleans. In the 1970’s she moved to Eden Isles in Slidell, LA where she resided until 2005, when the area was devastated by Hurricane Katrina. At that time she relocated to Washington Court House to be near family.She was a graduate of Eleanor McMain High School and the Joseph A. Maybin Commercial School. She attended Loyola University in New Orleans. For many years she served as bookkeeper for her husband’s green coffee brokerage in New Orleans.Mrs. Forstall was a devout Roman Catholic, whose faith was central to her life. She was a member of St. Colman of Cloyne Catholic Church; the Women of St. Colman, Fayette County Commission on Aging; Sr. Citizens, Inc. on Delaware Street and she had served as a volunteer with Hospice of Fayette County, Inc.She was an avid bridge player and a talented gardener. Her many beautiful needle point creations are cherished pieces of home décor in family homes.Mrs. Forstall will always be best remembered by all who knew her for her sunny disposition, bright smile and ready willingness to lend a helping hand.She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Anatole J. Forstall; her parents; siblings, Frank, Conchetta, Camille, Samuel, Erwin and Vivian LaRose, Mildred LaRose Keller and a niece. Gayle Barovechio.Mrs. Forstall is survived by her Washington Court House relatives, Carol VanMeter and her husband, Carroll; grand-nephew, Christopher Van Meter and his wife, Mary Ann; great-grandnephew, Jacob VanMeter, as well as the following nieces and nephews: Gwendolyn Orgeron, Janice LeBlanc, Jane Adams, Thomas LaRose, Margaret Giuffre, Nancy Mayer, Paul LaRose, David LaRose, Phil LaRose, John LaRose, Barbara Brandao and Margaret Selby.The funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, April 21, 2017, at 11 a.m. at the St. Colman of Cloyne Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Michael Hartge, parochial vicar administrator at the church, officiating. Immediately following the mass, a luncheon will be held in the church’s parish hall.In accordance with her wishes, following cremation her remains will be entered into the Forstall family tomb in St. Louis Cemetery #3 in New Orleans.Memorial contributions may be made to St. Colman of Cloyne Catholic Church, 219 South North Street; Hospice of Fayette County, Inc., 222 North Oakland Avenue, Washington Court House, Ohio 43160 or Heartland Hospice, 6500 Busch Boulevard, Columbus, Ohio 43229.Arrangements are under the direction of the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House.
