Tommie Lynn Mahoney passed away at in Blanchester on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at the age of 73.
He was born on January 17, 1944 in Dayton, OH. Tommie was preceded in death by his parents, Charles L. and Alice (Gibson) Mahoney; daughter Brenda Lee Mahoney and sister-in-law Darlene Mahoney.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Jane (Cadwallader). They were married in 1963 in Danville, Ohio. Tommie is lovingly remembered by his sons Jeffery Lynn Mahoney of Lynchburg, Ohio and Mark Wayne (Jenny) Mahoney of Cincinnati, Ohio, his grandchildren Katie Mahoney of Ft. Wright, Kentucky, Zach Mahoney of Lynchburg, Ohio, Maggie and Max Mahoney of Cincinnati, Ohio, great-grandson Zaiden Mahoney of Lynchburg, Ohio, brothers Charles Mahoney, Jr. of Dayton, Ohio and Douglas Wayne (Nora) Mahoney of Arcanum, Ohio and numerous nieces and nephews as well as the incredibly compassionate staff at The Laurels of Blanchester.
Tommie graduated Lynchburg High School in 1962, was a 50 year member of IBEW Local 82 in Dayton, Ohio, a Lifetime Member of the NRA, member of Dayton Lodge 147 F.&A.M., and the Valley of Dayton A.A.S.R. Tommie enjoyed fishing, shooting, gardening, woodworking and spending time with his family.
Visitation will be held at Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro, Ohio on Monday, April 10 from 5-8PM. Funeral services will be held at Thompson Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 11 at 10AM with graveside services immediately following at Hamer Township Cemetery in Danville, Ohio. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project.
