Phyllis (McCann) Adkins, 75, of West Union, Ohio passed away
Saturday, April 8, 2017 at her home. She was born February 26, 1942
in Happy Hollow, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her
grandparents who raised her, William and Lucinda (Earls) Moore;
mother, Ruby Sparks; brother, Terry Morrison; infant sister, Linda Sparks,
and infant grandson, Justin Shiveley.
Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Susan Shiveley and husband Mike
of West Union; granddaughter, Crystal Crabtree and husband Jason of West
Union; three great grandchildren: Kayden, Carsen and Chase Francis
all of West Union; special daughter, Lucy Floyd and husband Doug of Fayetteville,
North Carolina; special grandchildren, Lindsey, and Teleatha Floyd of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and April Baldridge and husband Ben of West Union; four sisters: Diane Patrus ie and husband Ricky of Cincinnati, Carol Martz and husband Kevin
of Portsmouth, Cindy Cole and husband Pat of West Union, and Janet Schmidt of Mansfield; four brothers: David Sparks and wife Connie of Colorado, Billy Sparks
and wife Barb of Springfield, Jimmy Sparks and wife Betty of Springfield, and Gary Sparks of West Union; sister-in-law Judy Morrison of West Union and many nieces
and nephews.
Phyllis had worked as an assistant cook at the West Union Elementary
School. She had also worked for the Manchester Police Department. She attended
the Faith Life church in West Union as long as her health permitted.
The visitation is from 5 until 7 pm on Monday, April 10, 2017 at
Lafferty Funeral Home in West Union. The funeral is Tuesday, April 11, 2017
at 11 am with Pastor Matt Young officiating. The burial will be at the West Union Cemetery in West Union.
