Alfred W. “Al” McGraw, 77 years of Hillsboro, passed away on Thursday April 6, 2017 at his residence.
He was born in Portsmouth, OH on February 22, 1940, the son of the late Jake and Delia (Shover) McGraw. Besides his parents, he was also preceded by three brothers, Jake McGraw, Jr., Bill McGraw and Harry McGraw and seven sisters, Josephine Blaine, Mae Burke, Georgie Snyder, Louella Coyle, Brenda Jones, Sharon McGraw and Baby McGraw.
Al played football, basketball and baseball at Portsmouth East High School and after he enlisted in the United States Army. After his service, he worked for Chrysler until 1996.
Al is survived by his wife, Mary Jackie (Orme) McGraw, whom were married on October 15, 1981, two daughters, Deanne (Drew) Claybaugh and Timie (Duane) Wells, son, Eddie (Kim) Lay, brother, Lee McGraw, three sisters, Carol Cummings, Kay Snyder and Connie Bise, six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one on the way.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday April 11, 2017 at the Thompson Funeral Home with military rites conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard.
Friends may call from 12:00 PM until time of services on Tuesday at the Thompson Funeral Home.
