John E. Elliott, 81 years of Waverly, passed away on Saturday March 18, 2017 at his residence.
He was born in Londonderry, on March 25, 1935, the son of the late John and Edna (Cunningham) Elliott. Besides his parents, he was also preceded by his wife, Beatrice Pauline Elliott on October 20, 1988, son Stoney Elliott, two brothers, Carl and Lewis Elliott and two sisters, Majel Holloway and Linda McWhorter.
John served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1957.
John is survived by his four sons, Everett “Leon” (Edith Mark) Elliott of Bainbridge, Clyde “Tim” (Bonnie) Elliott of Kingston, Kevin (Melissa) Elliott of Peebles and Richard Elliott of Waverly, daughter, Geraleen (Keith Lansing) Thompson of Waverly, brother, Paul Elliott of Chillicothe, five sisters, Patty Riddle of Londonderry, Carolyn (Keith) Minnie of Chillicothe, Eileve (Jimmy) Vanover of Londonderry, Janice (Dan) Swackhammer of Chillicothe and Judy (Les) Odel of Chillicothe, fourteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM on Tuesday March 21, 2017 at the Thompson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Rabbit Hash Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard.
Friends may call at 12:00 PM until time of services on Tuesday March 21, 2017 at the Thompson Funeral Home.
