Charles M. (Mac) Cockerill, 86, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Thursday, March 9, 2017, at 6:27 a.m. at his residence.
Mac was born March 13, 1930, in Fayette County, Ohio to Charles Luther and Northa Lois Fountain Cockerill and was a life-long resident of this community where he was a retired farmer.
He was a member of the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He loved his family, farm, friends and trail riding.
Mac was preceded in death by three grandchildren, Justin Stuckey and Stephanie and Bethanie Cockerill; a brother, Edwin Cockerill and a sister, Joy E. Gleadall.
He is survived by his wife, the former Lovella LeMaster whom he married October 7, 1952; three children and their spouses, Bryan and Melaine Cockerill, Debbie and Steve Miller, Michelle and Kirk Stuckey, all of Washington Court House; seven grandchildren, Travis (Christina) Miller, Heather (Woody) Deskins, Jennifer (Ryan) Bauman, Brad (Melanie) Cockerill, Troy (Karrianne) Cockerill, Whitney Cockerill and Heath Cockerill; eleven great grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Ann Cockerill and Brant and Elaine Cockerill; two sisters, Patsy Bryant and her husband, John, and Sandie Rockhold, all of Wallington Court House; a sister-in-law. Loretta Litteral of Tipp City; a brother-in-law, Bill LeMaster of Salyersville, KY and special friend and caregiver, Sarah Matthews.
A graveside service will be held at convenience of the family in Highlawn Cemetery with Jeff Davis, chaplain for Hospice of Fayette County, Inc., officiating. Burial will be under the direction of the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House
Friends may call at the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church, 4679 State Route 41-S, Sunday from 2-4 p.m.
