ZACHARY HOWARD BROWN SR., age 66, of Washington CH, passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at 5:53 p.m. at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on January 1, 1951 in Fayette County to William Delbert and Edna Gladys Smith Brown. He was the first New Year’s baby to be born at Fayette County Memorial Hospital. He was a 1969 graduate of Miami Trace High School. He worked as a Greyhound driver, semi-truck driver, fuel clerk at Kroger, and most recently, a security guard at Stage Distribution Center. He was affiliated with the AFLCIO Greyhound Union and the UFCW Kroger Union.
Zachary was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, William Delbert Brown, Ronald Orlan Brown, Wilma Jean Thompson, and Garry Clark Brown.
Survivors include his wife, Valerie G. Brown, whom he married on November 25, 2000; children, Scott Allan Brown, Valerie Brown-Taylor, Dreama Jean Brown, Zachary Howard (Crystal) Brown Jr., and Brooke Nicole (Bryan) Demers; grandchildren, Austin and Hayden Brown, Kaitlyn and Kaleb Taylor, Haiven, Raelin, and Holten Pepper, Corey McNeal, Zane Brown, Adalyn Demers, and arriving in July, Andrew Zachary Demers; canine companions, Katy Bug, Chloe, Dixie Chick, Jasper Bodine, Jr., and Soafie. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Eli Carter and Pastor Tom Knauff officiating. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Saturday from 1-3 p.m. and again from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service.
