John "Jack" Cowgill, age 87, of Hillsboro, Ohio, passed away Tuesday morning, December 13, 2016 at home.
He was born June 19, 1929 in Hillsboro, son of the late Parker Walter and Olive Mae West Cowgill.
John was a birth rite Quaker and had attended Fall Creek Friends Meeting during his childhood. He served in the United States Marines during the Korean Conflict. John retired from Wrightt Patt after 21 years, on their work breaks they would play euchre and ping pong. After retirement he did some painting all over Highland County. John enjoyed bowling, swimming, traveling and attending country music concerts with his friends.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy Cowgill, whom he married in June 1966, two daughters, Kathy (Kenny) Hawk and Colleen Daube, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph W. Cowgill and Paul Cowgill, and a sister, Mary Jean Cowgill.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 2:30 PM at the Falls Creek Friends Meeting, 11245 Karnes Road Hillboro, OH 45133.
