Bernice Steward, 86, of Lynx, Ohio passed away on Sunday,
February 19, 2017 at her home. She was born November 26, 1930 in
Brush Creek Township in Adams County. She was preceded in death
by her parents, Herman and Mabel (Rothwell) Conn; husband, John Steward,
infant sons, Jimmy Dean and Junior Harold; granddaughters, Brenda and
Chelsea; brother, Tracy Conn, and sisters, Lucille Potts, Grace Henderson,
and Elsie Slax.
She is survived by five daughters: Mary Alice Howe of Toledo,
Charlotte (Joey) McGinnis of West Union, Hazel (Andy) Royster of
Manchester, Judy Steward of Lynx, and Margaret (Dan) Wilson of West
Union; six sons: Keith (Michelle) Steward of Lynx, Sam Steward of Lynx,
Rick Steward of Lynx, Robert (Freda) Steward of West Union, Everett
(Tammy) Steward of Winchester, and Rodney Steward of Batavia; 15
grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Boyd Avenue Church
in West Union, and a former member of the Mt. Armenia Church in Lynx.
The visitation is from 11 am until 1 pm Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Lafferty
Funeral Home in West Union. The funeral is at 1 pm. Pastor Chet Whaley
will officiate. The interment will be at Mt. Armenia Cemetery near Lynx.
