Fur babies first …Millennials are putting off marriage and having kids … but they are warmly embracing fur babies. In fact, Millennials are the biggest pet-owning generation. 35% of Millennials own a pet, compared to 32% of Baby Boomers. And 82% of Millennials who have pets view pet parenting as preparation for having a baby.

More stats:

  • More than 80% of Millennials say they worry about their pets when they are apart -- even for just a short time.
  • 70% of Millennials would be willing to take a pay cut if they could bring their pet to work every day.
  • 65% say being separated from their pet for a week would be worse than not having their phone for a week. (Forbes)

I’m borrrrrred …A new survey found that the average adult spends about 131 days a year bored. The survey defined a boring day as one that “involved no fun at all.” Seems all those “adult” responsibilities -- like work, parenting, paying bills, chores, etc. -- are taking all the fun out of life for most adult Americans. In fact, 60% of participants believe their life is just too “grown-up.” (Study Finds)

Can your relationship survive an affair? According to a new survey, most can’t. The survey -- of people who admitted to cheating while in a committed relationships -- found that 54.5% broke up immediately after the truth came out, 30% tried to stay together but broke up eventually, and just 15.6% survived the affair. Dirty little secrets …A new survey says that Millennials are almost twice as likely to hide bank or credit card accounts from their partners than older generations are. 28% of Millennials admit to having hidden accounts, compared to 15% of older adults. The survey also found that more than half of Americans say keeping a secret account is as bad as having a secret affair – with 20% saying it’s actually worse. (MarketWatch)

Can reading make you rich?Asurveyby the Pew Research Center found that 24% of U.S. adults hadn’t read a book in the past year. BUT … the same survey found that the richest adults are three times more likely to read than those with a household income less than $30,000.
