Most people who lose a wallet in the city trash would just call it a loss and say "fuhgeddaboudit." But not this New Yorker.
Avrohom Levitt had a lot of cash in his wallet and, most importantly, a couple of dedicated sanitation workers who were willing to search through 2,000 pounds of New York City garbage to help him find it.
Levitt had a bad feeling he had accidentally tossed his wallet out in the trash. Luckily for him, he had a small GPS tracking device in it and was able to locate it in the city dump. Now came the hard part.
He called the sanitation department and found two workers who were willing to help him search the large mound of trash.
Using his GPS tracker, and hopefully some latex gloves, they were able to track down the wallet in about 15 minutes.
Levitt was extremely grateful and said, "More than finding my wallet, was appreciating the amazing job the sanitation workers do." (WCBS-TV)
