Clay Rolls Past Lady Indians of Hillsboro

Going into Wednesday's non-conference clash at Dodsonville,, the Lady Indians of Hillsboro and the Mustangs of Lynchburg-Clay had lost their most recent games. Each team had been on a upward trend in recent weeks. However, the Mustangs with a stout defense and efficient offense overwhelmed HHS by the final score of 53-25.

.

Hillsboro was held to single digits in every quarter (with a high of 8 in the final period). Meanwhile, the Mustangs registered quarter scores of 13, 13, 13, and 14 to win going away. The Indians can't be faulted for a lack of effort- their ball movement was crisp. However, they suffered one of the poorest shooting nights imaginable : shooting only 14 % from the field for the entire game.

.

LCHS was led by Zoe Fittro whose long-range shooting and floor leadership made her an easy choice for the WSRW "Player of the Game." She finished with 12 points.

.

For Hillsboro, Gracie Dean continued her solid play by scoring 8 points.

.

Next for Hillsboro will be a trip to Chillicothe to take on the Lady Cavs for the second time. In the first match-up between the FAC foes the Cavaliers prevailed by a 39-29 count.
