Paints Catcher Drafted by Pirates

The Pittsburgh Pirates have drafted Chillicothe Paints catcher Dylan Shockley. He was taken in the 34th round of the Major League Baseball Draft.

Shockley, who is also a graduate of Minford High School, became the third player University of Rio Grande player to ever be taken in the pro draft. He was twice named an All-American and was named Player of the Year in the River States Conference each of the last two years.

Shockley played for the Paints in 2016 and returned for this season after stints with the West Virginia Miners and Kalamazoo Growlers.
