Oprah gets emotional over Ellen's last shows

Metairie, Louisiana native Ellen DeGeneres will end her run as the host of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" tomorrow (May 26th). And what a run it's been! "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" debuted back in 2003 and aired a whopping 3,278 episodes over 19 years! To bid Ellen farewell, she has had on some amazing guests over these last few weeks, including somebody who can truly relate to leaving a long-running daytime talk show, Oprah Winfrey.

As Oprah explains, she has barely left the house during the pandemic. She has wanted to keep herself as safe as possible! But she did, however, leave the house to be one of the final guests on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," and things got pretty emotional. And how could they not? Oprah knows first-hand the feelings of the end closing in, especially when she saw Ellen's staff backstage. Oprah knows all too well how the host is the "face" of the show, but the show absolutely cannot go on without the "family" of everyone that works on the show, which is why the backstage staff got to her the way they did.

What a great guest to send Ellen off in one of her final days! We certainly miss Oprah, and we're going to miss Ellen too!
