Amanda Boys Basketball defeats Huntington with buzzer-beater

Amanda-Clearcreek's Aces staged a thrilling comeback to defeat the Huntington Huntsmen Wednesday afternoon at the Zane Trace Tip-Off Classic. After trailing early, the Aces battled back to secure a dramatic 64-62 victory.

Huntington jumped to an early lead in the first quarter, but Amanda-Clearcreek steadily chipped away at the deficit. With just 23.4 seconds remaining, Aces junior Hayden Dunn drained a clutch 3-pointer to tie the game at 62-62.

Following an inbound pass that deflected off a Huntsman, Amanda regained possession with 8 seconds left. Aces sophomore Nick Holland's shot attempt missed, but fellow sophomore Branson Fowler was in position to grab the rebound and score the game-winning basket just as time expired.

Holland led the Aces in scoring with 15 points, while senior Colton Westhoven had 14, and Dunn had 11. Fowler and senior Logan Stevens scored 8 a piece. For the Huntsmen, senior Carson Henneberger and junior Kalvin Manson each had 15 points. Senior Gabe Beardsley contributed 11, while junior Eli Ary added 10.
