OHSAA Meeting

Members of the media got a chance to meet with Ohio High School Athletic Association Executive Director Doug Ute Wednesday. Among the topics covered included the football playoffs, both the site of the finals and the expansion to sixteen teams per region last year. Ute said the expanded field generated $1.3 million dollars in revenue for the OHSAA, adding while there is continued pushback from some coaches, he expects the playoff field to stay at the current sixteen team per region format for the foreseeable future. The OHSAA contract with Canton to host the football finals has two years left, and Ute says it's a great site for the finals, and it's likely that the Pro Football Hall of Fame Stadium will stay on as the host.
