A Hillsboro man died in a single-vehicle crash in Adams County Friday afternoon.
54-year-old David A. Rhoads was southbound on State Route 770 in a 2004 Ford Explorer. At 4pm, near mile post 5 in Scott Township, Rhoads failed to negotiate a left curve, drove off the right side of the roadway, and struck a tree.
Rhoads was transported to the University of Cincinnati Hospital via helicopter and later succumbed to his injuries.
He was not wearing a safety belt and alcohol is considered to be a factor.
Units assisting on scene were Adams County Emergency Medical Services and Scott Township Fire Department.
