With uncertainty abounding during much of 2020- Friday night's opening of high school football brought a degree of normalcy to the end of August. Miami Trace, home against Circleville, used a relentless ground attack to subdue the visiting Tigers by the final score of 42-2.
Trace garnered their third straight win in the series by using junior sensation Jayden LeBeau to continuously gash the Tigers defense with big-gainers. LeBeau, the game's outstanding player, used 17 carries to amass 179 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Meanwhile, the interior defense of Miami Trace held Circleville's offense to 109 total yards (as compared to the Panthers total of 395 total yards). To be frank, it was the first quarter that set the tone for the Panthers. MT, with the help of 2
Circleville turnovers, scored 21 unanswered points and never looked back. LeBeau wasn't the only "star" of the evening. The weather played a major role by causing several delays that caused the game to last until after 11pm.
Miami Trace will jump right into FAC play next Friday when they host the Hillsboro Indians (0 - 1), who fell to Western Brown 62-6. The game can be heard on WSRW 101.5/1590AM and iHeart Radio beginning with the pre-game show at 6:40pm.
