Additional Indictments Handed Down On Suspended Pike Sheriff Reader

Suspended Pike County Sheriff Charles Reader is been hit with another indictment by the Pike County Grand Jury. This most recent indictment is for first-degree felony charge of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity. Earlier indictments include 18 charges, and replaces those previously filed against him in June and adds two new charges.

The new charges filed Friday include, in addition to the first-degree felony, five felony counts of theft in office, two felony counts of tampering with evidence, two felony counts of theft, one felony count of securing writings by deception and seven misdemeanor counts of conflict of interest.

Reader also faces a misdemeanor ethics charge filed in Franklin County Common Pleas Court.
