Workaholic

Are you always working? Sadly, you’re not alone. A survey found that 40% of respondents say they are always plugged into the office – even when they’re home and the workday is over. The survey found that nearly 17% of the employees surveyed said they spend more than 11 hours a week focusing on their job while outside the office — usually checking emails or making calls.

Other workaholic symptoms? Never taking a lunch break, working on weekends, and always being the last person to leave the office every day. More sad stats: 20% said they always check work emails in bed, 33% said they check their work emails first thing in the morning, 57% look at work projects/emails over the weekend, and 30% check work emails during dinner and throughout the evening. And 10% even admitted that they had taken a work call at a really inappropriate time, including during a wedding, a funeral, or while having sex. That said, nearly half of those surveyed said they like their job, but 65% said they hate that they are constantly focusing on their job. (Study Finds)

Speaking of work …According to billionaire investor Warren Buffett, the key to a happier life is doing something you enjoy for a living – and working with people you like. (Business Insider)
