Hillsboro Fails to Hold 4th Quarter Lead, Suffering Loss to Jackson

Hillsboro, coming off their first win of the season Tuesday night (over the Washington Blue Lions), came home to face the undefeated Jackson Ironmen. While the effort was unquestionably there, the Indians didn't have quite enough to garner a second win. The Ironmen, with a solid fourth quarter finish, left town with a 66-61 win over HHS.

.

Hillsboro, leading by one after the third period, stretched the lead to four points early in the fourth. However, just when the Indians seemingly had the advantage, Jackson went on a 6-0 run to seize the lead and capture the momentum....which they never relinquished. Caleb Willis, who earlier had scored 28 points against Miami Trace, topped that total with 29 markers to earn player of the game honors.

.

The Indians were led by a Ryan Scott's 19 points- while Jakwon Clark added 13 (his second straight game scoring in double figures).

.

With the loss, HHS drops to (0-2) in FAC play and (1-3) overall. On the other hand, Jackson is (2-0) in the FAC and (4-0) overall.

.

The Indians have little time to fret over the disappointing defeat because they will play an afternoon game at Lynchburg-Clay on Saturday. Then, next Tuesday night, they will play host to the Miami Trace Panthers.
