Fayette County Fair Features Big Plans for Harness Racing

Harness racing has always been a big part of the Fayette County Fair, and next week's fair is no exception.

Senior Fairboard President Bob Swartz says the Wednesday night harness racing event has become a spectator favorite. It involves the sponsorship by chamber members who sponsor the races, present the winner trophy and a ticket drawing after every race for a fan winner.

The Saturday Fayette County Classic features two-year-old pace horses sired in Fayette County, with $10,000 at stake for the winner.

The Fayette Country Fair opens Sunday and runs through Saturday.
