The Las Vegas Police Department has come up with an innovative way to help needy school children in the city.
Any driver ticketed for a parking violation or any other infraction will have the opportunity to pay off their debt by donating unused school supplies and educational materials.
The initiative, which started on June 19th and runs through July 19th, asks violators to keep their money in their pockets and instead pay off their tickets with pencils, pens, markers, scissors and any other supplies that schoolkids need.
All donations must be made within 30 days of the ticket's issuance and must equal the value of the fine. (People)
