Man Wounded in Second Street Shooting in Chillicothe

Chillicothe Police Detectives are investigating a non-fatal shooting that took place on the city's east side, Friday.

According to a release from the department, Captain Ron Meyers says officers were dispatched to 360 E. Second Street in regard to a person that had been shot.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers located Jacob Zamora, 30, inside the rear door of the residence, with a gunshot wound to his lower leg. He was alert and able to speak. He was taken by squad to Adena Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Captain Meyers was unable to confirm whether the shooting was intentional or accidental, saying since the case is still under investigation, it would be speculative to assume either at this point, but detectives have been assigned to the case.
