Environmental Group Names Big Darby Creek Most Endangered in U.S.

An 84-mile long river that starts west of Columbus and makes its way southeastward to the Scioto River near Circleville has been named one of the most endangered in the country.

The environmental advocacy group *American Rivers* says Big Darby Creek is threatened by urban sprawl, the uncontrolled expansion of urban areas.

In 2006 the *Big Darby Accord* was created to help clean up the Darby watershed. And while that arrangement helped, the environmental group says sprawl is still threatening its survival.
