More proof that social media makes us anti-social …There has been a disturbing surge in depression and suicide rates among younger generations, and experts say social media may be to blame. This is particularly troubling since 45 percent of teens in the U.S. say they are online “almost constantly.”
According to a study published in theJournal of Adolescence, “Those who were more emotionally invested in social media experienced poorer sleep quality, lower self-esteem and higher levels of anxiety and depression.” (The Ladders)
