Wind Gusts Create Some Damage Problems

American Electric Power reports that more than 70,000 customers were without service Sunday due to high winds and some customers won't have it restored until Tuesday.

Wind speeds hit 64 miles per hour in the Columbus area and were clocked at 55 miles per hour in Fayette County. U.S. Route 62 was closed at Mark Road Monday morning, due to DP&L lines being down on the road.

In Columbus, numerous reports were made of trees being down including on the OSU campus, where two people had to be rescued from their apartment. One person was injured.
