Slide Repair to Close Part of Route 28 in Ross County Three Days This Week

An emergency slide repair project will take place this week on State Route 28 in Ross County, requiring daytime closure of the route February 13th through 15th.

S.R. 28 has been reduced to one lane between Maple Grove Road and Musselman Station Road, approximately two miles west of U.S. 50 at Slate Mills, where a slip has occurred along the shoulder of the route’s westbound lane.

Currently, traffic is being maintained in one lane with temporary signals. However, the route will be closed Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of this week, from approximately 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day for ODOT crews to repair the slide. During periods of closure, traffic will be detoured by way of U.S. 50 at Slate Mills and S.R. 41 at Bainbridge, with the route open to one lane of signalized traffic during the evening and overnight hours.

Although the route will be open at these times to non-commercial traffic in both directions and eastbound truck traffic, all westbound truck traffic will be detoured via U.S. 50 and S.R. 41 through the remainder of the week. Weather permitting, the project should be completed by the end of the work day on Friday, February 15th.
