A county-wide curfew will be observed in Highland County in the month of October, for persons under the age of 18.
The curfew, issued by Highland County Juvenile Court Judge Kevin Greer mandates that anyone under age 18 to be off the streets and in their homes by 10:00pm Monday through Thursday and by midnight Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The curfew does not apply where children are accompanied by parents, legal guardians or custodians. An exception will also be made for children attending church, school or employment activities.
Judge Greer stated in a press release that while the court has no authority to set beggar's night, it is suggested each jurisdiction set it for Thursday, October 25th from 6pm-8pm as a convenience to law enforcement agencies.
