Blue Lions Roar Past Linden-McKinley


It was all Washington Court House Friday Night as they bounced back from a week three loss by dismantling the Linden-McKinley Panthers 54-6.


The Blue Lions scored four touchdowns in the first quarter and another four TD's in the second and never looked back.


Linden-McKinley got the ball first and fumbled on their second play of the game giving the Blue Lions the ball deep in Panther territory, two plays later Dillon Steward ran it in from 23 yards out for the score taking :21 seconds off the clock. On McKinley's next possession they were forced to punt, and fumbled the punt giving the ball back to WCH deep in Panther territory once again. Two plays later Gio Thomas hit Eli Lynch on a 30 yard touchdown pass, taking just :19 seconds off the clock to put the Blue Lions up 14-0. The Panther defense forced McKinley into a turnover on downs on their next possession which led to a one play drive where Thomas hit Omar Porter for an 83 yard touchdown pass taking just :17 seconds off the clock and the Blue Lions finished off the first quarter with Dillon Steward getting his second touchdown of the quarter a 78 yard punt return to give Washington Court House a 27-0 first quarter lead.


The Second quarter was more Washington, as they went up 33-0 on there longest drive of the night, a 7 play 60 yard drive that took 2:31 seconds off the clock ending with a Dillon Steward 9 yard touchdown run. Steward then returned another punt at the 7:07 mark of the quarter, 63 yards for the touchdown to put Washington up 40-0 with still  more to come.  At the 3:33 mark of quarter number two, Gio Thomas kept the ball himself and ran 1 yard on a 2 play 5 yard drive that took :45 seconds off the clock to make it 47-0 and the scoring was finished off with 3:01 remaining in the first half when Omar Porter grabbed his second TD of the game a one yard touchdown putting the Blue Lions up 54-0 going into the half.


The second half was played under the mercy rule and Linden McKinley was able to pick up a touchdown as time expired in the game to make the final score 54-6.


Linden-McKinley finished the night with just 37 total yards.


Washington Court House (3-1) finished with 268 total yards, 136 rushing and 137 passing. Gio Thomas had 2 touchdowns through the air. 


The Blue Lions are on the road next week taking on St. Charles.
