Buckeye Boys & Girls State Participants Saluted at Legion Banquet

More than one dozen boys were sent to Buckeye Boys State this summer from Fayette County.

American Legion Post 25 First Vice Commander David Frederick says they want to send more. Frederick says financial help is always needed and finding the funding is worth the work because of the effect the project has on these young men. The American Legion chapters in Ohio have been sponsoring Buckeye Boys State for 82 years, making changes in the lives of young men.

Balse Tayese of Washington Court House says when he became Goverenor of Buckeye Boys State he had a great deal of work to do from the start and says he learned how to try and fit everything in and how the process works.

Fayette County was well represented this year at Buckeye Girls State. Tori Evans was one of four high school juniors to go.

All four young ladies were honored at a banquet put on by American Legion Post 25 in Washington Court House Wednesday night.
