The new artificial turf that will adorn Miami Trace High School's football field, is being put in place this week.
The turf will be called "Tony's Welding and Fabrication Field", making it one of three football stadiums in the Frontier Athletic Conference to have an artificial surface. The other two are at Chillicothe and Jackson.
Hillsboro, McClain and Washington Court House will still have natural turf at their stadiums.
Miami Trace officials say the home stands and press box will remain in place this coming season, then be demolished in February, making way for a new home grandstand and press box to be constructed.
