Memorial Day: Country Tunes Honoring Fallen Soldiers

There will be celebrations across the nation this weekend, but before you head out to a barbecue, it's important to remember why Memorial Day exists -- to honor those who have died protecting our freedoms.

Here are a few of our favorite country tunes that honor our fallen soldiers.

"American Soldier" - Toby Keith"Oh, and I don't want to die for you, but if dying's asked of me/ I'll bear that cross with honor 'cause freedom don't come free."

"If You're Reading This" - Tim McGraw"I'm laying down my gun. I'm hanging up boots/ I'm up here with God, and we're both watching over you."

"Travelin' Soldier" - Dixie Chicks"Our love will never end/ Waitin' for the soldier to come back again."

"8th of November" - Big and Rich"On the eighth of November the angels were crying as they carried his brothers away."

"I Drive Your Truck" - Lee Brice"Momma asked me this morning, if I’d been by your grave/But that flag and stone ain’t where I feel you anyway."

"Just a Dream" - Carrie Underwood "Then they handed her a folded-up flag, and she held onto all she had left of him... Oh, and what could've been."

"Some Gave All" - Billy Ray Cyrus All gave some, some gave all/ Some stood through for the red, white and blue, and some had to fall."

"Arlington" - Trace Adkins"I'm thankful for those thankful for the things I've done/ I can rest in peace, I'm one of the chosen ones/ I made it to Arlington."

"For You" - Keith Urban You don't think about right. You don't think about wrong/ You just do what you gotta do, to defend your own."
