$15 Minimum Wage in Ohio?

There's a renewed push at the Ohio Statehouse for a $15 minimum wage.

State Senators Joe Schiavoni and Cecil Thomas, both Democrats, are pushing for the boost in the state minimum wage.

Thomas explains that his concern is that the conversation in the legislature is about giving tax cuts to fuel the economic engine in the state - but he says studies don't show that.  The two contend while Ohio has grown more than 65 percent in a generation, the workers who created the wealth have not shared in the growth.

The lawmakers are working with the lobby group Policy Matters Ohio on the legislation. They want a 15-dollar an hour minimum wage within seven years.
