Teen Charged with Threatening Scioto Valley Schools

A 15-year-old Portsmouth girl is facing felony charges for allegedly making school threats on social media.

A news release from the Scioto County Sheriff's Office said a threat on Snapchat Wednesday claimed "someone was coming to shoot people" at schools in Portsmouth, New Boston, Clay, West and Waverly.

Authorities traced the Snapchat account to an address on U.S. 23 in Portsmouth.  A 16-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl were arrested at the address.

The girl was charged with felony counts of inducing panic and making a terroristic threat.
