Teresa Jo Wheaton Lawwell Hagler, 54, of Bloomingburg, Ohio died Monday, January 15, 2018, at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center where she had been a patient since Thursday following a sudden illness.
Teresa was born December 17, 1963, in Greenfield, Ohio to Edward and Delores Jo Wise Wheaton. She attended Edward Lee McClain High School in Greenfield and lived all of her life in Greenfield and Fayette County.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jim and Marian Wise and Nevil and Georgia Wheaton.
Teresa had formerly worked at Thatcher Tube and Steelox.
She loved her children, grandchildren, gardening, her dogs, traveling to tropical places and giving back to the community. She was a member of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
Teresa is survived by her longtime companion, James J. “Jim” Hagler, Jr.; four children, Amber Hauck and her husband, Mike, of Washington Court House, Angela Nicole Lawwell, Chase Lawwell and Lyndsey Lawwell, all of Bloomingburg; four grandchildren, Havanna and Jerzee Lawwell and Kaylee and Carlee Hauck; her mother and step-father; Delores (Joey) and Roger Belles of Washington Court House; her father and step-mother, Edward and Penne Wheaton of Washington Court House; three brothers, Randy Fisher and his wife, Angie, of Washington Court House, Rich Kellenberger and his wife, Cathy, of Canal Winchester, Ohio and Eddy Wheaton of Washington Court House; a sister, Channing Wheaton of Columbus; Jim’s children, Jimmy and Courtney Hagler and their daughters, Lexi and Emma, of Bloomingburg, Jason and Danielle Hagler and their daughter, Lillian, of Bardstown, KY and Justin and Tesla Hagler and their son, Damien, of Washington Court House; Jim’s brother, Bo Hagler of Bloomingburg and his daughter, Haley, and Jim’s sister, Connie Guinen of Washington Court House and her sons, Jesse and Joel. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held Friday, January 19, 2018, at 6:30 p.m. at The Crown Room, 1801 Columbus Avenue, Washington Court House, Ohio, with Pastor Joel Guinen offering remembrances and reflections. The service will be followed by a dinner and gathering.
