Logan Tops Washington Court House In Boys Hoops Action

The Logan Chieftans proved to be too much for Washington Court House as the Blue Lions fell 66-47 in non conference boys hoops action Tuesday night.

Logan came into the night undefeated at 7-0 but the Blue Lions gave them all they could handle through the first three and a half quarters. Logan jumped out to an early lead up by nine points at the end of the first quarter, 21-12 behind three 3-pointers. The Blue Lions hung close through the second quarter as well, trailing by eight at the intermission, 31-23. Washington Court House outscored Logan in the second by a score of 11-10.

Washington outscored the Logan again in the third quarter as they shot 58% from the field including three 3's of their own but still trailed by six at the quarters end, 48-42. The Blue Lions were able to cut the lead to three with around three minutes to go in the ball game but a couple timely stops and Blue Lion turnovers stopped the run and Logan was able to outscore the Lions 18-5 in the final frame to finish the game on top, 66-47.

On the night the Blue Lions (2-5) shot well going 19-43 for 44% but were just 5-16 from behind the arc for 31% and perfect from the charity stripe, shooting 4-4. They committed 17 turnovers.

Logan (8-0) shot 53% from the field on 27-51 shooting, they knocked down 7-19 from downtown for 37%, shot 5-9 from the free throw line and committed 14 turnovers.
