Hillsboro Police responded to a crash in the 1400 block of North High Street, Thursday afternoon. Upon officer arrival a female identified herself as being the driver of the vehicle in the crash.
Witnesses of this crash later identified a male juvenile who was seated in the back seat of the vehicle as being the driver. Officers reviewed security camera footage at a business that captured the juvenile male in the driver’s seat of the vehicle.
The female, 18-year-old Saleena Marie Francis of Leesburg, later admitted to being in the rear passenger seat and was attempting to mislead law enforcement to keep the male juvenile from getting a citation.
Francis was arrested for obstructing official business and was transported to the Highland County Justice Center.
