Jon Elroy Phillips

JON ELROY PHILLIPS, age 76, of Washington CH, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at 10:20 a.m. at the Garden Manor Extended Care Center in Middletown, Ohio.

He was born on December 11, 1940 in Fayette County to John Emery and Dorothy Bell Irvin Phillips. Jon proudly served his country is the US Navy during the Vietnam Era. He was a self-employed electrician and had worked in maintenance at Airborne until his retirement. For over thirty years, Jon had a booth at Caesars Creek Flea Market. Jon was a member at the Lytle United Methodist Church in Waynesville, Ohio. He enjoyed going to church, working at the flea markets, collecting things, and being with his family and friends.

Jon was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Jim Phillips, Jerry Phillips, Jackie Tarbill, and Jay (Linda) Phillips.

Survivors include his children, Teri Phillips, Melanie Conger, Tony (Chris) Daugherty; his loving girlfriend of thirty-four years, Karen McIntosh; her children, Kerri McIntosh, and Donnie McIntosh and his fiancé, Stephanie Conanan; grandchildren, Brice Crandall, Caleb and Savannah Campbell, Liam and Ronin McIntosh, Lily Conanan, Angel Brewer, Dustin (Mariah) Daugherty, Scott (Heather) Daugherty, and Andrew Daugherty; great-grandchildren, Angel, Baja, Scottie, Hayley, and Hannah; and siblings, Joey (Phyllis) Phillips, Judson (Ethel) Phillips, Jesse (Brenda) Phillips, Janie Jones, and Judy (Elmer) Sanderson. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

The memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Brian Blankenship and Palmer Jason officiating. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service.

In keeping with Jon’s wishes, his body will be donated to Wright State University for the advancement of science.
