The Fayette County Board of Developmental Disabilities is asking for a yes vote on its renewal levy this November.
Former Board President, Mitch Kirby, spoke at Monday's Meet the Candidates Night, sponsored by the Washington Kiwanis. "This won't be a new tax," said Kirby. "The Board of DD has two levies.
They are both ten year levies and both of those provide the bulk of the funding for the Board.
"That makes passage of the levy in November vital to the organization, said Kirby. "It's a critical part of the budget," said Kirby. "It's local dollars being spent locally."
The General Election is Tuesday, November 7th.
