Shirley Ann Allman, 83, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Thursday, May 18.2017, at 4:10 p.m. at Court House Manor where she had been residing three years.
Shirley was born November 13, 1933, at McArthur in Vinton County, Ohio to Arch and Eva Brown Herron. She moved to the New Holland community in 1963.
She formerly was an aide at the Orient State Institute and later worked at the Orient Correctional Institution.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy Edwin Allman, Jr. in 1997; by a son, Robert Lee Allman in 2016; three grandchildren, Robert Lee Allman, Jr. in 2012, Tracy Lynn Allman in 2014 and David Scott Allman in 2015; two brothers, Lee and Wayne Herron and a sister, Frances Herron.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Gary E. and Rebecca Allman; a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Jeffry Wamsley; a daughter-in-law, Angela Allman, all of Washington Court House; five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; two brothers, Wesley Randall Herron of North Royalton, Ohio and William Herron of McArthur and a sister, Virginia Byers and her husband Gerald "Cotton", of Londonderry, Ohio.
The funeral will be Monday, May 22, 2017, at 1 p.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in New Holland with the Rev. Michael Hodge, pastor at the Walnut Hill Church of Christ in Christian Union, officiating. A graveside service will be held Monday at 3 p.m. at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Vinton County.
Friends may call at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in New Holland Monday from 11 a.m. until time of the service.
