First dates don't always end well, but it's rare that one would end with a lawsuit.
A Texas man is suing a woman he took out to a movie because she spent the whole time texting on her phone. After he repeatedly asked her to stop texting and start watching the movie, she got up and left the theater.
Clearly this was not a perfect match, but Brandon Clarke Vezmar isn't ready to chalk it up to being a bad date -- he wants compensation. He's suing the woman for $17.31, which is the cost of the two movie tickets he purchased for the date.
The lawsuit claims that texting is in "direct violation of the theater's policy, adversely affecting the viewing experience of [Vezmar] and others... While damages sought are modest, the principle is important as Defendant's behavior is a threat to civilized society. (CBS News)
